Introduction: Debra Jacobs is a very experienced philanthropist with The Patterson Foundation of Sarasota, Florida. As its President/Chief Executive Officer, she brings a strategic lens to the job. We caught up with her last year and grabbed a few of her observations upon taking the reins. Additionally, Ms. Jacobs served as the Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Southeastern Council of Foundations in 2010 and remains on its Executive Committee. She speaks from this high-altitude view of the field during these uncertain economic times.
